  • Locations

    Our Headquarters is located in Bedford, NH. We also have two additional locations! One in Costa Mesa and the other in Simi Valley, CA. 


Engineering

The Engineering group consists of two distinct teams that work together to develop products from concept through production — Product Engineering and Transition Engineering. The Product Engineering team is responsible for all technical aspects of product development. Together, with Program Management, the Product Engineering team establishes the task schedule, task milestones, and technical goals for products and helps to define the company standards for product development. This multidisciplinary team supports predictive performance modeling, product design, integration, and test specifications. Product industrialization, including workflows, fixture development, assembly, and test work instructions for Operations is led by the Transition Engineering team with the support of Product Engineering as the design authority. 
 


Quality

Quality represents the face of the company as it pertains to customer service and support. The team is responsible for performing internal and external audits ensuring the compliance of products and processes to requirements. They also manage the integrated management system, internal and external audits, continuous improvement of products and processes, lean six sigma, supplier quality, calibration, document control, logistics and product sustainment, product quality, and health, safety, and environmental.


Programs

The Program Management Office (PMO) governs the company’s daily programs execution, facilitates inter-department coordination and resource allocation, and institutes project management best practices to deliver superior results that are aligned with the company’s cost, schedule, and technical performance goals. The PMO drives desired results through expert program management best practices coupled with skilled resource and risk management to provide a wide range of desired customer capabilities that support company strategic initiatives.


  • Research & Technology

    The Research and Technology (R&T) organization is responsible for the identification and strategic pursuit of capability-enhancing solutions that offer a competitive advantage and better serve Optics 1’s customers. The R&T team works in close coordination with the Business Development and Program Management departments to develop product and technical roadmaps that ensure Optics 1 is pursuing Programs, Technologies, and Product Development efforts that are supported by strong business cases, and are aligned with our company goals and our customers’ priorities.


Business Development

The Business Development team is responsible for promoting and ensuring the development and execution of the Company’s strategic plan by selecting and winning high quality opportunities within the Department of Defense (DoD). This team includes sales and marketing professionals and is comprised of 70% Veterans! They are the primary interface between external customers and the Company, and they provide guidance and support to Program Managers who are assigned to specific product and program portfolios. The team successfully captures new sales opportunities through technical proposals, trade shows, industry days, and demonstrations, in addition to building and maintaining a close relationship with customers.


  • Production

    Production is responsible for all assembly and test work, collaborating with both Engineering and Quality to ensure our products meet required customer specifications. The team has specific short and long term goals, defined to support both customer and overall Company financial needs. They ensure that volume, cost, and quality standards are achieved through guidelines of workflows, assembly methods, and work force utilization, in combination with setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring resources, and studying methods of cost reduction.


Supply Chain

The Supply Chain side of the team includes stockroom, shipping, and receiving staff, in addition to experienced material and subcontracts buyers and managers, and material planners. This team supports all proposal activities related to material costing, subcontracts, supplier setup, non-recurring costs, and inventory costs for both Engineering and Production. The Shipping side of this team is responsible for getting products out to customers on strict deadlines, ensuring the continuance of programs and the trust of customers, as well as receiving all products from our supply chain partners


  • Enterprise Solutions

    The Enterprise Solutions team is responsible for managing the applications that support all of the functions of the Company. This team works with different functions in the business to improve processes and reporting to better support our customers. They also manage all of the SAP solutions functionally and technically here at Optics 1.
