Frequently Asked Questions

When does the internship program at Optics 1 run?

Our internship program typically runs for three months during the summer from the beginning of June to August. However, internships may start earlier or extend later depending on student availability and company needs.

When does Optics 1 start recruiting for interns?

Our Talent Acquisition team begins posting internship openings in the fall and attends College Career Fairs throughout the Fall and Spring Semesters. Check out our upcoming Career Fairs and other events here.

How do I apply for an internship?

To apply for an internship, visit the "View All Jobs" page and find the opening that interests you. Click 'Apply Now' and you will be prompted to upload your resume, create a candidate profile, and answer a few questions. If you do not see an opening that matches your interests, please feel free to join our Talent Community and we will keep you updated on openings and other events!

What are the standard requirements for internships?

Students must be enrolled in a 4-year degree program associated with the department of assignment. Juniors and seniors are given preference for intern positions. However, underclassmen may be considered as well.

What are the internship hours?

Interns are eligible to work our regular 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off!). In addition, interns do not receive paid time off, but they are still welcome to take time off as needed.

Are Optics 1 internships paid?

Yes! We pay all our interns a competitive hourly rate.
