"The choice to seek employment at Optics 1 was easy for me, knowing how much care and emphasis the organization puts into supporting the warfighter with the best, most reliable equipment in the world today."

Meet David - US Navy & NH Army National Guard Veteran

David Parrotto joined Optics 1 in March 2023 as a Production Program Manager. He has 13 total years of service in the US Military, 4 active duty with the US Navy and 9 with the New Hampshire Army National Guard. David joined the Navy after high school and was stationed at Naval Air Station Sigonella, Sicily. His unit supported flight line arming and ordnance operations for US and NATO aircraft. He also spent his last year of active duty aboard the USS Boone in Mayport, Florida. Primary missions during that time included counter drug operations with support from the US Coast Guard and security duties during NASA launches from Cape Canaveral. While in the Army National Guard, David deployed several times, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Hurricane Katrina relief, and right here in New Hampshire in support of the Mother's Day floods in 2006.

In his current role here, David prepares, equips, and supports production programs once they are approved through Engineering. It is his responsibility on a daily basis to ensure that employees producing our products have what they need, when they need it. David stated to us: "the choice to seek employment at Optics 1 was easy for me, knowing how much care and emphasis the organization puts into supporting the warfighter with the best, most reliable equipment in the world today." With this responsibility, he is able to continue indirectly serving the Military while working at Optics 1.

At Optics 1, we recognize that Veterans carry many skills that are transferrable to civilian employment. When asked, David told us: "My time in the military provided me with numerous skills I have been able to carry with me into the civilian sector. These include, but are not limited to: attention to detail, problem solving abilities, the concept of team work and having a "team first, not me first" attitude, and contingency planning (always have several plans to achieve your objective should one or more fail)."

Thank you, David, for your service!
