An Inside Look at Charlie Langlois

What is your favorite thing about working at Optics 1?

My favorite thing about working for Optics 1 is the team I get to be a part in. This is a small team of people who work extremely well together on both a professional and personal level. It is rare to find yourself in a position where you love working with your immediate coworkers on a daily basis. The breakfast, ice cream, and cupcake days don't hurt either!

What is the most meaningful part of your job?

I get to fix things every day. I am the filter between us and the outside world (consumer) and those people, much like the ones in here, need me. It's a responsibility of mine to ensure the customer gets a dependable product that will in turn keep them safe. It's a very rewarding feeling to be able to "fix" and see the results.

Have you grown and/or developed your career here at Optics 1? To What do you contribute your success?

I feel that out of all the jobs I have had, I have grown here the most. I have learned technical, troubleshooting, critical thinking, organizational, and personal skills that I did not have before. The direct leadership I have in front of me, and the trust they choose to give me, is the sole reason why I can do the things I do and continue to grow and help Optics 1. Morale and opportunity is everything and I have both of those in my direct team.

What motivates you to be successful?

I want to be of value and I want to make change. I pride myself on being a "fixer" and being dependable. Credibility and dependability are huge motivating factors for me.

In your mind, what sets us apart? Why Optics 1?

We are a "small" business (in size and culture) operating with the power of a massive business. We have the unique ability to be free/fun/fast, but have the support and stability of a large entity. It's the best of both worlds.
