Robert (Bobby) Boll joined Optics 1 in 2022 after retiring from 27 years in the US Air Force. The majority of his time was spent as a Combat Controller in Special Operations Command. He completed 16 deployments supporting operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, Africa, and South America. Bobby served along side some of America's finest and most professional Special Operations Forces. He has been able to transfer many skills to his civilian employment including: understanding the mission and team come first, finding solutions to complex problems, and working through adversity and challenges.
When asked why he chose Optics 1 as a Veteran, Bobby told us, "I was interested in continuing a career in the defense industry and wanted to move to southern New Hampshire to be close to family. Optics 1 makes products that I have personally used - and know that they work - so it was a pretty natural fit". Recently, Bobby has been closely involved in a new product being developed for the US military. He is able to continue serving the military by working closely with the operators which the product is designed for and translate their unique requirements to our Engineering and Program Management teams. This ensures the operators get the device they require.
In his role as a Business Development Manager, Bobby works on International Business Development efforts. This includes working with end users, Safran Affiliates, and business partners to identify requirements so Optics 1 can provide the best solutions to their problems. He still enjoys traveling to other countries to demonstrate our products and ensure they are exactly what operators need for mission success.
