Optics 1’s commitment to service is prevalent throughout the organization, spanning across all levels. Our very own CEO, Bob Lachance, served 5 years in the United States Marine Corps. Bob served as an Air Command and Control Electronics Operator (MOS 7234) with overseas deployments in Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, and Okinawa.

Bob credits the Marines for giving him purpose and shaping his discipline and interpersonal communication skills, which have been integral throughout his career in the Defense Industry. The Military helped Bob accomplish his education goals, earning both an undergraduate degree and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with support from the GI Bill.  

The support Bob feels as a Veteran working at Optics 1 has fueled his career trajectory from Business Development Manager to Vice President of Business Development, to his current position as Chief Executive Officer. He enjoys serving those who serve by understanding the US Military’s needs, building long lasting relationships and providing game changing products, which enable success on the battlefield.
