POSITION PROFILE:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for providing comprehensive support in components and products manufactured and ensuring compliance with contract requirements, assisting with maintaining ISO certification and representing the department in all quality efforts.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Participates in Non-Conforming Material Process and Material Review Board (MRB)
  • Provides support to Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to develop Qualification and Acceptance Test Plans, First Article Test Plans,  and In process Inspection plans
  • Coordinates and conducts final and in process periodic testing
  • Assists in the development of DFMEA, PFMEA and control plans.
  • Supports Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System
  • Production and Engineering development support based on program life cycle and staffing needs.
  • Support ISO Audits of Quality Management System processes and documentation in accordance with industry best practices and ISO 9001:2015
  • Supports Engineering Change Proposals and Configuration Control Documentation processes
  • Requires a high level of internal and external customer support
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Entrepreneurial attitude, enjoys a diversified and fast paced environment
  • Uses Lean Six Sigma theory and practices to assure quality control
  • Provides support to Continuous Improvement manager to develop implement continuous improvement projects

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Electronics or other technical field
  • Minimum of 5 years in a Quality role with proven success and understanding of Quality Assurance procedures, processes and tools
  • Electro-Mechanical Engineering understanding and experience
  • Working knowledge of ISO requirements and certification
  • Experience managing and performing qualification testing in accordance with MIL-STD-810
  • Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, decision-making, and conflict management skills
  • Comfortable in conversing at all levels within the organization
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project and Excel.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
  • U.S. Protected Individual status

 

IDEALLY YOU'LL ALSO HAVE:

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Experience working with Electro-optical equipment
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control
  • Experience with MTBF and MTTR generation and analysis
  • Experience working in an ITAR environment
