POSITION PROFILE:

Engineer I is responsible for the electrical layout, design, documentation and test of hardware reliability and performance of Optics 1 products.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop technical skills for the job (designing, soldering, debugging, testing, report writing, etc.)

  • Assist engineers with researching electrical/electronic components & systems for use in production, or replacing obsolete parts

  • Participate in cross-discipline trades & system-level impacts

  • Implement parts of the design assigned

  • Comprehend Optics 1’s development tools & procedures

  • Participate and contribute in basic discipline analyses (Power analysis, electronic circuit simulation and analysis, etc.)

  • Participate and contribute in product specification conformance and validation testing, data collection, system integration, and debugging

  • Provide support to engineers on programs

  • Provide production support

  • Provide data for programmatic documentation activities

  • Support meeting programmatic commitments

  • Develop understanding of production processes and environment

  • Research, design, install, test, analyze, and maintain electrical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles under the direction of other engineers

  • Collaborate with vendors and customers on project tasks

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

 

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • 0 to 2 years’ experience in an engineering setting

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential

  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain security clearance is required

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to be a team player

IDEALLY, YOU'LL ALSO HAVE:

 

  • Familiarity with working in an ITAR environment
