Have you grown and/or developed your career here at Optics 1? To What do you contribute your success?
I have! I have been in the business for a long time, and I feel like I have learned a lot. I was hired at Optics 1 as an Electro-Optical Assembler in 2018. I was then promoted to Electro-Optical Technician in 2020. The following year, I applied to the Engineering Department for the Engineering Technician role and got the job! I have to say that getting a SPOT bonus after joining engineering was a great feeling. I had never felt that proud in my whole career.
What motivates you to be successful?
I think "opportunity to use critical thinking" is one of my favorite things I do at O1.
What impact do you have at Optics 1?
Being in the engineering group, I get to work on just about all of the new technologies. I supply engineers with assemblies that help them accomplish their goals.
It is our hope that all employees share a sense of belonging. What makes you feel you belong at Optics 1?
The fact that they do High fives and spot bonuses makes me feel like they see what you do and are willing to acknowledge it. Also, I have bonded with several people here and I have to thank O1 for this.
In your mind, what sets us apart? Why Optics 1?
It’s the effort they make to set themselves apart from the rest of the industry. With all the perks that O1 supplies (breakfast, Ice cream, handshakes, outings etc.. ) I think it helps to keep the atmosphere a positive one. It’s clear they’re making an effort when it comes to making their people happy. I think a positive group builds better products.
